Finishing up May, June and July

It seems like the months are really flying by. We finished up May with my birthday.

Happy 61 to me!!Julie made the most amazing cheese cake for me.

She is so nice. I know it was a lot of work and expense.

The best part was getting to see the girls.

For Memorial Day we went to the pioneer park at the This Is the Place monument.

Brigham Young's farm house.

Eliza graduated from pre-school. I'm pretty sure she was the smartest kid in her class.

Gary and Beth came for a visit and we had a bar-be-que.

Some princesses attended.

Hi Beth!!

(She's so happy because she's about to eat chocolate.)

This year we went to the Stadium of Fire on Saturday.

The show was great.

On the 4th of July, Monday, we did fireworks at the Collett's house.

We got rained out and had to quit. Eventually it was raining so hard it put out the fires so they wouldn't work.

During June and July I worked on my most recent project.

We bought a new dining room set.

I took the chairs apart, had them sprayed white, and then I recovered the seats in a fun and funky fabric.

I love the end result. It's elegant but not boring.

We went to Idaho for the Richins family reunion.

They had this 75 foot water slide and I couldn't resist giving it a try. I was really fun.

Phyllis flew in and we took her up with us.

We played dominoes back at home.

Last Sunday we celebrated Olivia and Eliza's birthdays with the Colletts.

We couldn't get Olivia to stop playing long enough to come blow out her candles.

The happy family.

Sorry there was so much all at once. Hope you didn't get too bored. Anyway, so far this summer has been wonderful!!

Babysitting in Austin

Yes, I just got back from babysitting in Austin, TX where Michelle and Blaine are living for the summer. Michelle took baby Eve and went to California for a reunion with her friends, and Blaine was so busy with his work the my services were needed.I totally forgot about taking any pictures, until Sunday. Here's the gang all ready for church.
I just got a few shots of the kids playing in the boxes left from their new scooters and trikes.

And on Monday before I came home, I got a few cute shots of Evie.

Isn't she yummy?

We have been busy!!

I really couldn't take the color our new house was painted. It was so dark and gloomy. We had always planned to paint, but knew it would be a big expense as well as a big mess. We finally got up all of our nerve and had it done. It was like moving out and moving back in again. But it was worth it.I guess I need "after" photos.

Julie and Grant had us over for Ken's birthday. It was so nice of Julie to cook for us.

A few days later, Tiffany and Kyle came to visit. It was great to see them.

A couple of days after that we flew to Orlando with John and Betty.

It was my first time to Orlando. The first day we went to Epcot.

"It doesn't get any better than this."

We had a trip around the world without the jet lag.

Our best meal of the trip was in "Italy".

The day was ended with a bang!!

The next day we went to the Magic Kingdom.

It was in the mid 90's all week so every time we saw people in character costumes we felt really sorry for them.

Old coots in the shade.

Enjoying a cool moment after lunch indoors.

The classic and always wonderful electric parade.

On the third day we went to Sea World.

We saw two shows with jumping dolphins and whales...

...and one show with jumping humans.

We saw birds who actually like living in a freezer.

But outside the freezer the flowers were in full bloom.

My favorite part of the day was feeding and petting the dolphins.

The fourth day we went back to Epcot to see what we'd missed on the first day.

The next day we went to Disney's Hollywood Studios.

We enjoyed this backdrop that makes us look like we're on a long road up a hill in San Fransisco.

The Beauty and the Beast stage show was great.

Our last day we went back to the Magic Kingdom for our last dose of fantasy.

BUT, when we got home we learned of a REAL fantasy come true.

Grant made it official and now Julie has her ring.

They are very happy, and so are we!! Julie really is a dream come true.

We are soooo lucky to be getting her and her girls in our lives.

Walt Disney knew what he was talking about...dreams really do come true.
