In the absence of cute babies to post, I am left with images of the cat and the rest of us adults. Do not despair, next week I will be posting my photos from our trip down to Michelle's house. We will be there for Kimberley's birthday on New Year's Eve.

These pictures were taken Christmas day. We had our gift opening and turkey dinner and watched the Muppets'Christmas Carol, which is getting to be a tradition around here. We used to watch the Christmas Carol with Geo. C. Scott, but I guess that the Muppets are more on our level. Nothing says "Christmas" like a green frog dressed in Victorian-style clothes.

Here we all are on Christmas Eve. We had our traditional Hawaiian Haystack meal. Our friends, the Malones, have been joining us for the last couple of years.

The other night, Ken and I were playing dominoes and our baby decided he wanted to play too. Pretty cute. Two old people and their cat playing dominoes.

In case you were wondering, this is the real reason it is called "Happy Valley." I get to see this every day from my front porch.

Michelle posted these pictures on her blog and I thought I'd share them. Gee, I wonder why I think my grandbabies are cute?

This is the most recent photo of Michelle and her family.I think they're pretty cute.

This was the best beach experience of my life. We sat under this tree and swam in this beautiful bay. We swam for about a half hour with a sea turtle, until it got bored and swam away. It was so amazing.

I know we ate too much, because there are lots of photos taken of us eating.

This is my most recent trip to Hawaii. In May Ken and I went to the "Big Island"with our friends, the Malones.

This is me doing my very favorite thing of all...snorkling! Woohoo! I'd rather be doing this than anything.

I have been fortunate enough to be able to go to Hawaii twice in the last couple of years. About 18 months ago I went with my mother to Oahu.

Here we are doing my 2nd favorite thing of all...taking a ride on a boat.

For those of you who haven't heard from us lately, we have been ordinance workers in the Mt. Timpannogos temple for 5 years now. We work every Thursday and Friday evening. We love it and can't imagine ever wanting to quit. We've met so many wonderful people. Of course, the very best part of working there is the spiritual growth we have experienced. I would recommend temple service to anyone!!

Here are more pictures of Christmas. I love the way the snow makes the lights on our bushes glow.

Our cat Cubby loves the new tree. And we've decided that the tall tree is worth the extra work. Our old-fashioned decorations look great on it.

Kimberley and I look so lovely together, don't you think? She is as excited about Christmas as I am.

To those of you who think California or Arizona or other warm climates are great, just look at how easy it is to get the Christmas spirit while looking out our back door!!!

And check out the lights on my mother's yard next door. I seriously love Utah , especially at Christmas-time.

Last year our Christmas tree pretty much bit the dust. We decided that this year we would get a new tree, those new-fangled ones with the lights already on it. When we went to the store to look at trees we saw the 7 foot trees and they looked so small next to the 9 and 12 foot trees. Since we have a two story living room we knew there was plenty of room for a taller tree. So, we decided that a 9 foot tree would do nicely. Did we stop to think about how we'd actually reach the top to decorate a taller tree? Here is Ken with the big ladder with only one question on his mind, "What were we thinking?"

This year for Thanksgiving we invited Jenny Williams Maururi (Ken's niece) and her husband Gustavo and their twins over. They are darling and lots of fun to have around. Of course, Grant and Kristin and my mother were there, too.

One of the main reasons I went down to Michelle's recently was to help them move into their new house. Real estate in Tucson is pretty reasonable right now so they were lucky to find a very nice home that they could afford. As you can see, Asher is just sick of having his picture taken.

I am very blessed because even though my grandbabies live in Az, I have the means to go visit them often. My most recent trip was the weekend after Thanksgiving. I was lucky to be there when Michelle and her little family were decorating for Christmas.

I haven't added to this blog because I have been busy but, mostly, because I wasn't sure there would be anyone who would want to look at my blog. But I will try my hand at adding to this blog and see how things turn out. Since I don't have cute little children around every day that make wonderful blog subjects, I guess I will have to include pictures taken of my grandbabies during my trips to Michlle's house. And, I will include things that I have been doing, or things that I find interesting. So here goes...

We're grandparents again!

Okay, so here I am trying to be all hi-tech. Actually, Blaine has set up this blog for me. I am in Arizona getting to know our new grandson, Asher Blaine Richardson. When I get back to Utah I will have to learn how to do this myself. Yikes!!!
Asher Blaine Richardson was born on Monday, September 17, 2007. He weighed 7 lb. 13.7 oz. and was 18.5 inches long. His hair is sort of blondish. He looks like his daddy, but he's still cute anyway.
Mostly what I have been doing while I've been here is playing with the most beautiful granddaughter in the world. Kimberley and I have been having so much fun playing, swimming in the apt. pool, coloring pictures, and general fun and craziness. She is 20 months old and full of energy and enthusiasm. I am in grammy heaven.

I go home to Utah in 3 more days. I will miss being here, but we will be back for the blessing in November. Well, this was my first blog and I feel strangely powerful. Bye for now.
