Gary and Beth

Over the weekend, my brother Gary and his wife Beth came to visit from AZ.
We ate lunch at Sundance on Friday and...

on Saturday, the whole family took a little drive up to Park City.

For me, the highlight of the day was reading the funny Cow-humor t-shirts at the
"Cow" Ice Cream Store.

(my personal favorite)

Maybe you'll think they're funny, or maybe it's just one of those times when you had to be there.

Utah Symphony

Last Friday evening we went to hear the Utah Symphony at Thanksgiving point with our friends, Wayne and Amy Willis. If you've never been to a concert at Thanksgiving Point, I would recommend it. I love being outdoors in the evening during the summer.
It was great to see our old friends again. We became friends in Albuquerque, and now that they live in Ogden, it's like they live hundreds of miles away. It's hard to find time to see them even though Ogden isn't all that far away.

A good sport

This is my 3rd post today, but I just wanted to put in one last word...about the unsung hero of the last 3 months.
I need to say thanks to Grant who willingly and without a word of complaint, gave up his apt. in the basement to move into the tiny pink bedroom upstairs while Michelle and her kids were here. I never once heard him complain or say, "Gee, I wish they'd hurry and leave," or anything like that. He is a sweet and selfless guy and we are lucky to have such a kind man for our son.

Moving Day

This day has been coming for 3 months and it comes with mixed emotions. We are sooo happy that Michelle and Blaine and the kids all get to be together as a family.
But, we will miss them so much!!!!
Look out Denver, here they come!

Kimberley and Asher took turns sitting with Daddy in the big truck.

As they drove off, I said to myself,
"Well, now what?"
For the last three months every day was centered around them and their needs.
Seriously, Now What???

(Actually, I know what comes next...
cleaning the house and getting caught up on EVERYTHING.)

All-American 4th of July

We decided to take it easy for the 4th this year. Michelle and her little family were preparing for their move to Denver, so a simple back yard barbeque seemed the best way to celebrate.

Blaine was here in preparation for the move.

The weather was perfect for using the deck.

We had all of the traditional foods...
hamburgers, watermelon, and home made ice cream.

Ken even went and bought a new barbeque grill that morning.

Happy July 1st

Yesterday we took the kids to the city pool.
It is an awesome place and it is very toddler-friendly.Tiff and her kids were down and they went with us.
Kimberley and Ellie are enjoying the fun "shower"the toddler pool had.

All Asher really wanted to do was lay on his tummy and drink the pool water. Gross.

I sat on the sidelines and held Oliver.
It was so much fun. I am so sad that they are leaving in four days.I'd love to go back.
